“Baking is full of Maths really, isn’t it Teacher?”

Yes!!! What a fantastic discovery!!! 3rd Class recently discovered how much Maths we could incorporate into a Baking Lesson. We discussed Weight, Capacity, Shape and Time. We also needed to add and take-away grammes and millilitres until we had just the right amount of each ingredient. What a fun way to study Maths and then we got to eat lovely jammy scones when they were cooked. Yummy 🙂

CUDA National Primary Schools Quiz

The final of the Credit Union Development Association (large Credit Unions) was held today in the Ardboyne hotel. Boyerstown, Wilkinstown and ourselves had qualified to represent St. Mary’s Credit Union of Navan.

After ten rounds our team scored a very impressive 90/100.

Looking at the scoreboard (we were table 21),

this placed us joint second with two other teams. The winning school came from Tullamore with a super score of 92.

Instead of a tie-breaker, the three teams were given another round of ten questions. This worked out perfectly for us, with our team scoring seven, and claiming second place.

A super performance!
