Social Media and our Children Night

The Parents Association will hold an information night with Mr O Donoghoe and An Garda Siochana on next Monday night the 25th November at 8pm in the school. In light of recent criminal trials and media coverage highlighting the serious issues relating to social media, access to pornography, cyber bullying and social exclusion, we will give presentations on these issues facing our children.

Everyone is welcome.

Bag 2 School Collection

We are holding our Bag2School Collection on Friday November 16th at 9:30am.

We will collect any bags you may have at the school on Friday morning until 10am. We hope to take your unwanted clothing and turn it into funds for the children. Not only do we get the cash benefit of our collection but Bag2School will donate an additional 10% to a very special charity, LauraLynn House.

Thank you for your support.

Marathon Relay Finish Line

What a day for a marathon relay. No ice this year to hamper the runners or rain to dampen the excitement of the kids. The race was on, but this year a surface change and a move to the grass.

2hr 31 mins 17secs was the time to beat so the challenge was on. More children participated this year with some teachers and parents also taking part. It was the children that done the most of the leg work, completing  100’s of laps of the circuit to reach that 42km target.

After a long school day with a huge amount of leg work put in by the kids the challenge was done.… READ MORE

Lismullen Marathon Relay 2018

Our first fundraising event for this  year will take place on Friday 19th October.

Our Marathon Relay was a huge success last year with some off the funds raised supporting the Literacy Lift Off  Programme which was boosted with seven new tablets.

Please support our fundraiser as every child gets a chance to take part and beat our time from last year.

Lets wish all the kids well as they run to complete the 26 mile relay course.

Copper Kilo Challenge

The excitement was building around the school last week as the final day of the Copper Kilo Collection approached. The tension was high as the coins were weighed in each class and the wait began for the winners to be announced. Every class did fantastically well and many brought bottles exceeding 10kg to the weigh in. At last the weighing was completed and Mrs Buchanan’s Senior Infants were deemed the winners. Hooray!!! Their fabulous class prize is a half-day of art with a visiting artist. Many thanks to all the children, parents and extended families who supported this great fundraising initiative and we look forward to hearing from the Parents’ Association the final amount of funds raised.… READ MORE
